Science Buddies

The award-winning, non-profit organisation Science Buddies empowers K-12 students, parents, and teachers to quickly and easily find free project ideas and help in all areas of science from physics to food science and music to microbiology. The mission of Science Buddies is to help students from all walks of life build their literacy skills in science and technology, so that they can become productive and engaged citizens in the 21st century. There are also resources to support parents and teachers as they guide students through hands-on science projects.


The Science4Us curriculum is a complete, standards-based, core science curriculum that delivers digital science experiences to elementary school students. The Science4Us curriculum includes pedagogical and content training for teachers that does not require a large time commitment like the typical professional development structures. Science4Us has been awarded a grant from the Department of Education for educational games in science.

Lawrence Hall of Science

The Lawrence Hall of Science has been providing parents, kids, and educators with opportunities to engage with science since 1968. The Lawrence Hall of Science investigates, creates, and evaluates educational material and methods, professional development programmes, and hands-on learning experiences for schools, communities, and homes.

E-learning for Kids is a global, non-profit foundation dedicated to fun and free learning on the internet for children of ages 5-12. Understanding Science

The mission of Understanding Science is to provide a fun, accessible, and free resource that accurately communicates what science is and how it really works. Understanding Science gives users an inside look at the general principles, methods, and motivations that underlie all of science.


PhET provides fun, interactive, research-based simulations of physical phenomena for free.  To help students visually comprehend concepts, PhET simulations animate what is invisible to the eye through the use of graphics and intuitive controls such as click-and-drag manipulation, sliders, and radio buttons. In order to further encourage quantitative exploration, the simulations also offer measurement instruments including rulers, stop-watches, voltmeters, and thermometers.


Edheads creates unique, free Web experiences designed to make hard-to-teach science, technology, engineering, and math concepts understandable. Harnessing the myriad possibilities of the Internet and connecting to nationally-recognised educational standards, Edheads delivers in-depth content that allows K-12 students and the curious of all ages to learn intuitively in an online environment.
